The Institute initially served as a centre for distance learning when it was established in 2010, it was not until later in 2013 that it was fully transformed into a Tertiary Education Centre commissioned by the former President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama.
The vision of a University was born by Noble Rev. Dr. Abbeam Ampomah Danso who himself experienced challenges and struggles his youth to further his education due to financial difficulties. The purpose of establishing the University was to give the underprivileged a chance to acquire higher learning skills and knowledge.
The Institute in its early stage was running only Media related programs but now offers over 10 major programs for certificates, Diploma and Degree level qualifications in Business Management, IT and Computer Science, Fashion, HR, Accounting, Travel and Tourism and more.
Abbeam Institute of Technology is an international tertiary education and is affiliated to Cambridge International College and receives students from countries including UK, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire and USA
Abbeam Institute of Technology popular known as Abbeam is the only Institution at Abbeam City Nurses Quarters that serves the entire community in and around the City.
Abbeam University continues to be the best educational institute in Africa, inculcating in each student the New Thinking philosophy of its founder which shapes the new ways of thinking, to produce innovative and creative ideas in this 21st Century which will benefit the society, the nation Ghana and the entire globe.
At present, Abbeam provides educational opportunities to an approximate total of 300 students for both regular and weekend lecture periods.
