Ghana Airport Terminal 3
Flagship Project Terminal 3
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) officially commenced the construction of its flagship project(terminal 3) at Kotoka International Airport(KIA).This follows a sod cutting ceremony performed by the President of the republic of Ghana,H.E John Dramani Mahama in March,2016.
The project is a part of GACL’s capital investment programme that entails the construction of a new terminal at KIA and the rehabilitation of other regional airports managed by GACL.
On completion, the new terminal, designed for international traffic will ease the pressure on the existing two terminals and is expected to handle up to five million passengers a year, with an expansion potential up to 6.5 million passengers. Construction of the new terminal will be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2018.
The airport expansion aligns with the country’s ambition to upgrade its vital infrastructure by modernising and transforming the airport into a hub for West Africa and as a regional aviation hub.
