GHANA PRISONS SERVICE RECRUITMENT GENERAL ELIGIBILITY.

Applicant must:

Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.

Must possess a first Degree, not below a Second Class Lower from an accredited university, and the relevant professional qualification where it has been specified.

Must have completed his/her National Service.

Must be computer Literate. Must be of a minimum age of 21 and not more than 35 years by 31st December 2017.

Must be physically and medically fit by the Prisons Service standards.

Must be of good character, have the ability to work under pressure and difficult environment

Must not be bonded.

Must have a minimum height of 1.67metres (5ft 6inches) for Males and 1.57 metres (5ft 2inches) for Female.

Must have six credits. (Not less than C6) including Core English, Core Mathematics and Core Science at WASSCE/SSSCE.

Ghana Prisons Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for General Duties

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have a minimum of first degree (Second Class Lower) in any of the following areas. Any additional qualification will be an added advantage.

(a) Social Work

(b) Human Resource

(d) Social/ Humanities

Ghana Prisons Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for Education

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have

(a) B.ED (Basic or Early Childhood Development)

(b) B.ED (Guidance and Counselling)

Ghana Prisons Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for Technical Officer

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have

(a) BSc Land Economy

(b) Building Technology

i. BSc. Quantity Surveying and Construction Technology

ii. BSc. Construction Technology and Management

(d) BSc Civil Engineering

(e) BSc Mechanical Engineering

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have

(a) BSc Business Administration (Accounting Option)

(b) Part 2 of ICA (Ghana)/ ACCA

Professional qualification will be an Added advantage.

Ghana Prisons Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for Public Affairs

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have at least a Second Class lower:

(a) BA Communication Studies/ Public Relations from an accredited University.

(b) A first degree in any discipline and a Diploma in Communication Studies/ Public Relations from an accredited University.

(d) A minimum of 2 years working experience in a reputable print media will be added advantage.

Ghana Prisons Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for Nursing

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must have at least a Second Class lower in the following from an accredited University:

(a) BSc Nursing

(b) License with the Nursing and Midwives Council of Ghana

Ghana Prisons Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for Legal Officer

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must meet the following:

(a) Have a minimum degree of LLB plus B.L ( Professional Law Course)

(b) Have at least 2 years professional working practice

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must meet the following:

(a) BSc in Agriculture ( Crops or Animals )

(b) Have at least 2 years professional working practice

Ghana Prisons Recruitment/Enlistment Requirements for Religious Affair

In addition to the general eligibility, applicants must meet the following:

(a) At least a Second Class lower from a recognized University

(b) An ordained minister or chaplain of a Christian denomination approved by the Ghana Catholic Secretariat, the Christian Council of Ghana, the, Pentecostal Council of Ghana or other recognized Christian Bodies

GHANA PRISONS SERVICE RECRUITMENT APPLICATION – HOW TO APPLY

Carefully read through the entry and recruitment instructions on this page before proceeding to apply for GPS enlistment. Make your decisions and take note of all required data in the subsequent steps.

Visit the Ghana Prisons Service (GPS) Recruitment Portal via http://apply.joinghprisons.com/
Click on the Apply Now tab and enter the e-voucher serial and pin code details. Select your highest educational level.
Select preferred branch and enter your Bio and Educational data and upload a passportsized picture of dimension (200×180) pixels before submitting.
Print out a copy of the application summary report, which contains details of your Applicant Identification (ID Number) and other relevant data.
Once the application is successfully submitted you can come back before the closing date to print your summary report with help of the card purchased.

IMPORTANT: Supply only genuine data about yourself (Bio & Educational). Any form of false data submitted would not be treated lightly by GPS command, and defaulters would be apprehended and prosecuted.

GHANA PRISONS RECRUITMENT E-VOUCHERS

Make sure to buy your e-voucher from any of the Ghana Commercial Bank branches across the country. You will need the serial number and the pincode from the e-voucher before starting the registration process.
