Any police officer who on appointment in the Police Service falsely states that he has not been convicted of or imprisoned for a criminal offence or that he has never been employed by the Government shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred new cedis or to imprisonment not exceeding six months, or to both.
